Yes. Anyone with a valid UK visa can rent privately in the UK. Landlords are legally required to carry out Right to Rent checks for all adult tenants regardless of nationality. You will need to show your passport and visa (or share code for eVisa holders). Having a visa does not prevent you from renting.

Right to Rent is a legal check that UK landlords must carry out on all adult tenants before they move in. It verifies you have the legal right to rent in England. You prove this by showing your passport and visa documents, or by using a share code from your UKVI online account for eVisa holders.

How much deposit can a UK landlord charge?

Since June 2019, UK landlords can charge a maximum of 5 weeks rent as a security deposit for properties with annual rent under £50,000. The deposit must be protected in a government-approved scheme (Deposit Protection Service, MyDeposits, or Tenancy Deposit Scheme) within 30 days of you paying it.
